Sports Mole brings you live updates from all of the games featuring in the FA Cup first round on Saturday afternoon.

Dover Athletic and Chester FC make the headlines after both Conference Premier sides recorded wins over Football League opposition in the first round of the FA Cup.

A goal in first half injury time from Stefan Payne earned Dover a 1-0 victory against Morecambe, while Craig Mahon struck early in the second half to earn Chester FC a 2-1 win away at Southend United.

Eastleigh and Dartford will also represent the Conference Premier in round two, while Southport have taken Dagenham & Redbridge to a replay.

Read below to see how the action unfolded on Saturday afternoon.

2.01pmHello, and welcome to Sports Mole's live coverage of Saturday's fixtures in the FA Cup first round.

2.04pmWhen the football calendar is released each year, the majority of football supporters immediately look forward to the fixtures against their fierce rivals, but for a non-league, looking at the date for FA Cup first round is a chance to dream about what could lie in wait for them on a cold, wet day in November. Well, that day has arrived and for 16 non-league teams, today is the day for them to try to edge closer to a mammoth showdown with a Premier League team in January.

2.07pmOriginally, 17 clubs outside of the Football League had been due to play this afternoon but unfortunately, one of those fixtures has fallen by the wayside. Concord Rangers, who currently sit in 11th place in the Conference South, had been due to play Mansfield Town but the pitch at Field Mill has failed an inspection from the referee after the constant downpours of rain that we have had over the last 24 hours. Let's hope that is the last of the postponements this afternoon...

2.10pmFootball supporters would have already been looking forward to this afternoon's action but if ever an appetite was to be whetted, it would have come from last night's fixture between Warrington Town and Exeter City. Warrington compete at the eighth tier of English football but after a performance full of fight and determination against their League Two opponents, they manage to see out a famous 1-0 victory. If you missed last night's drama, have a squint at our match report by clicking here.

2.14pmMore often than not, the Football League teams will come through against the minnows, but a round of the FA Cup never passes by without a few shocks. That's the beauty of the competition and why it is regarded as the best domestic cup competition in the world (unless that's just me being biased...). With 45 minutes still remaining until the games get underway, let's take a look at where some of the surprises could take place this afternoon.

2.19pmEast Thurrock United of the Isthmian Premier are the lowest-ranked team competing this afternoon and the first-round draw thrown up a long-distance trip to Hartlepool United of League Two. On paper, it's a mis-match but given Hartlepool's struggles of late, there's a real possibility of the East Thurrock earning a result at Victoria Park. Their away form in the league is nothing to shout about, but one thing that they have achieved this season is solidity at the back and with Hartlepool having scored just 12 goals in 16 games this season, who knows...

2.23pmAnother tie that has got giant-killing written all over it is AFC Flyde's encounter with Plymouth Argyle. Plymouth are riding high in League Two but that's not enough reason to dismiss Fylde, who have been on a real charge in the Conference North. They slipped up last weekend but that is likely to be just a minor blip and there is expectation in the North-West that not only can they return with a result at Home Park, they can also reach the Football League in the next few years.

2.25pmThis is the scene at Victoria Park where East Thurrock United have just taken to the pitch to start their warm-up.

2.27pmIt's a similar story at Home Park where the AFC Fylde players have began their preparations.

2.29pmPITCH INSPECTION! Weston-super-Mare are scheduled to host Doncaster Rovers this afternoon but it's not looking good. A lengthy pitch inspection is currently taking place with the ball not having a whole lot of movement when dropped on the playing surface by the referee.

2.36pmAnyway, while we wait for another update, let's crack on with taking a look at another match. Dover Athletic have struggled since their return to the Conference Premier but they can forget about their league woes with the long...long trip to the North-West coast to play Morecambe, who are placed in ninth in League Two. Both teams have been similar form in their respective leagues and Morecambe's home record is equally as average as Dover's away statistics. A worry for Dover though might be their tendancy to ship a couple of goals per game on the road and that will have to improve if they want to progress through to Monday's draw.

2.39pmThis was the reason why Mansfield against Concord Rangers was called off. Looks fine to me...

2.41pmPOSTPONEMENT! They may be based on opposite sides of the country but The Weston-super-Mare versus Doncaster Rovers fixture has suffered the same fate as the one at Mansfield. Desperately disappointing for all involved.

2.43pmWith that cancellation, we are left with 25 ties. I'm confident that no more will be called off...

2.47pmReports are coming in that the Doncaster Rovers fans haven't taken too kindly to the news that their 400-mile round trip has been wasted. I'm not surprised. I think everyone is all for giving a game as much chance as possible to go ahead, but it shouldn't take 21 minutes before kickoff for the officials to make a decision one way or another.

2.52pmOne potential upset that we haven't looked at yet is the game between Barnet and Wycombe Wanderers. The Bees have been in ruthless form since the start of August to open up a considerable gap at the top of the Conference Premier. Wycombe find themselves at the summit of League Two but I doubt that they will relish the trip to the Bee Hive Stadium today. Barnet look unstoppable on route to a return to the Football League and this contest is the perfect opportunity for them to showcase their ability under Martin Allen.

2.56pmWith so many matches taking place, it's probably not humanly possible to bring you an update of every goal that goes in this afternoon but don't worry - you still have our comprehensive live score section to scroll through at your convenience.

3.00pmKICKOFF! We are underway up and down the country.

3.03pmThe first goal of the afternoon has been scored by Conference South outfit Bromley, with Louis Dennis netting in the opening minute against local rivals Dartford, who play in the league above in the Conference Premier.

3.05pmGOAL! Barnet 1-0 Wycombe Wanderers

3.06pmWe spoke about this match in the buildup, and it's taken just three minutes for in-form John Akinde to notch up his 12th goal of the season against his former club Wycombe Wanderers. Don't be surprised to see the forward add more to his tally later in the afternoon.

3.08pmThe goals are starting to fly in now. Yeovil Town and Shrewsbury Town have taken the lead in their respective matches but there's a big goal in the fixture between Southend United and Chester FC, with the Conference Premier team scoring through Ben Heneghan.

3.10pmGOAL! Peterborough United 0-1 Carlisle United

3.12pmCould there be a shock on the cards at London Road? Carlisle United, who sit third bottom of League Two, have taken the lead at League One team Peterborough United.

3.13pmGOAL! Bury 0-1 Hemel Hempstead

3.14pmHemel Hempstead, who are struggling in 17th place in the Conference South, have gone ahead at Gigg Lane against Bury. 61 places separate the two teams in that one.

3.17pmThe goals have stopped for the time being but we've already had the opening chapters written in several potential giant-killings. The Hemel Hempstead is the stand-out scoreline so far.

3.18pmIt has taken just 15 minutes for the first red card of the day to be handed out. Rochdale's Ian Henderson has been dismissed in their tie with Northampton Town.

3.19pmGOAL! Bury 1-1 Hemel Hempstead Town

3.20pmIt didn't take long for a response from Bury, did it? The League Two outfit are back on level terms against their non-league opponents with Andrew Tutte getting on the score sheet.

3.23pmBasingstoke Town and AFC Telford United are separated by one division but it's effectively one place with Basingstoke top of the Conference South and Telford bottom of the Conference Premier. However, it's the team lacking form who have edged in front, with Rod McDonald getting the goal.

3.24pmSwindon Town are having a nightmare at Whaddon Road against Cheltenham Town. Not only are they a goal down, but they are now a man light as well. Nathan Thompson has been dismissed for denying a goal-scoring opportunity.

3.27pmWe've only had a total of 14 goals from our 25 matches, which isn't many, is it? Or is that just me being greedy?

3.30pmEast Thurrock United are still holding their own at League Two's Hartlepool United. Hartlepool have had the best opening of the match, though, with Jordan Richards heading off target. East Thurrock will fancy their chances if they can remain on level terms at the break.

3.31pmGOAL! Port Vale 1-1 MK Dons

3.32pmBenik Afobe has been in unstoppable form during the early parts of this season, and that has continued at Vale Park. He's just netted his 14th strike of the campaign to equalise for his side.

3.33pmGOAL! Hartlepool United 1-0 East Thurrock United

3.34pmIt's taken them 32 minutes but Hartlepool have the lead over East Thurrock with Jonathan Franks getting the goal.

3.34pmGOAL! Plymouth Argyle 1-0 AFC Fylde

3.35pmGOAL! Southend 1-1 Chester FC

3.36pmAFC Fylde and Chester had been doing well in their respective ties, but they've both conceded in the past couple of minutes. AFC Fylde have fallen behind at Plymouth Argyle while Barry Corr has equalised for Southend at home to the Conference Premier club.

3.37pmGOAL! Barnet 1-1 Wycombe Wanderers

3.38pmBarnet have been pegged back in the battle of the league leaders at the Bee Hive Stadium with Paul Hayes getting Wycombe Wanderers back on level terms from the penalty spot.

3.41pmWe have just five minutes remaining before the break in our 25 matches. Can any of the non-league sides gain the upper hand before half time?

3.43pmGOAL! Grimsby Town 0-2 Oxford United

3.44pmIt's turning into a fine afternoon for teenager James Roberts. He has netted twice to give Oxford United a 2-0 lead away at Conference Premier high-flyers Grimsby Town.

3.45pmGOAL! Peterborough United 1-1 Carlisle United

3.46pmPeterborough are finally level with Carlisle after spending much of the first half behind to the League Two strugglers. Defender Christian Burgress is the man with the goal.

3.49pmThe half-time scores are beginning to flood in so hop on over to our live scores section to catch a glimpse of what is going down up and down the country.

3.50pmGOAL! Dover Athletic 1-0 Morecambe

3.52pmIt's not quite half time at the Crabble Athletic Ground and that's certainty a positive thing for the hosts. The Conference Premier side have just taken the lead against Morecambe after a goal from Stefan Payne.

3.55pmI made a big song and dance about there always being shocks in the FA Cup but as it stands, just one non-league hold an advantage over Football League opposition with Dover Athletic leading Morecambe. Still, there is plenty of time for that to change.

3.58pmAs well as the ties taking place today, we also have plenty being played tomorrow afternoon too, so be sure to check back tomorrow for more coverage of the FA Cup first round.

4.03pmAll of the games that restarted now, so expect the goals to start flying in again very soon, especially in the games involving non-league teams. This is their 45 minutes to shine or face the prospect of missing out on this opportunity for another 12 months.

4.07pmBromley had the honour of netting the first goal in the opening 45 minutes but opponents Dartford have repeated that achievement at the start of the second.

4.10pmBasingstoke have also equalised at home to AFC Telford. Those two team-talks have worked well. The Conference South leaders have plans for a £10m stadium so a bit of money from this competition would come in handy.

4.11pmGOAL! Grimsby Town 0-3 Oxford United

4.12pmGrimsby Town's participation in this year's competition is coming to an end. Danny Rose has given Oxford United a 3-0 lead against the Mariners.

4.13pmGOAL! Southend United 1-2 Chester FC

4.14pmChester FC are back in front at Southend! Craig Mahon has netted the goal for the Conference Premier side.

4.17pmWe haven't spoken much about Southport's game at Dagenham & Redbridge, but the Sandgrounders are still goalless with the League Two side, who have lost 11 of their last 13 matches at home. Gary Brabin will be delighted with how his team have fared so far.

4.19pmIt's turned into a cracking game at Vale Park. Port Vale had been leading against MK Dons, but the visitors are now in front by a 3-2 scoreline. Benik Afobe has posted a double.

4.22pmAFC Fylde are still chipping away at Plymouth Argyle but the Conference North representatives remain 1-0 down. The same can be said of East Thurrock United at Hartlepool United, who will fancy their chances of an equaliser if they can take their hosts into the closing stages at just 1-0 down.

4.26pmGOAL! Barnet 1-2 Wycombe Wanderers

4.27pmWycombe have completed the turnaround against 10-man Barnet to lead 2-1 at the Bee Hive Stadium. It could be tough for the Conference Premier leaders from here onwards.

4.30pmWe are approaching the nitty-gritty part of the games now. Apart from three games that look done and dusted, the other 22 are separated by no more than a goal so we are sure to have some late drama in the next 20 minutes.

4.33pmGOAL! Plymouth Argyle 2-0 AFC Fylde

4.34pmThe dream looks over for AFC Fylde who have conceded a second to Plymouth Argyle. It was always going to be a tough ask but knowing the ambition that is present in the North-West, they will be bitterly disappointed to bow out of the competition at this stage.

4.37pmAs it stands, Dover Athletic and Chester FC are still leading against Morecambe and Southend United respectively. That's where the stories are at the moment.

4.39pmJay Emmanuel-Thomas has given League One leaders Bristol City a 2-0 lead away at Gillingham. Steve Cotterill's men have been superb since the off this season and that looks like continuing at the Priestfield Stadium.

4.39pmGOAL! Barnet 1-3 Wycombe Wanderers

4.42pmIt's looking like game over for Barnet, who are now 3-1 behind at home to Wycombe. Remember that Barnet are down to 10 men too. There's a thrilling contest taking place at the Courage Stadium with Dartford now leading Bromley 4-3 after facing a 1-0 deficit at the break.

4.44pmThere's also been seven goals at Vale Park! The home side have reduced the deficit to one after getting back to 4-3 down against MK Dons.

4.46pmGOAL! Hartlepool United 2-0 East Thurrock United

4.47pmThey have battled on bravely but East Thurrock have finally conceded a second away at Hartlepool United. They are the lowest-ranked team competing this afternoon.

4.50pmGOAL! Bury 2-1 Hemel Hempstead Town

4.51pmDisaster for Hemel Hempstead! The Conference South side have conceded late on away at Bury.

4.52pmFULL TIME! Dagenham & Redbridge 0-0 Southport

4.53pmFULL TIME! Hartlepool United 2-0 East Thurrock

4.54pmFULL TIME! Gillingham 1-2 Bristol City

4.56pmFULL TIME! Plymouth Argyle 2-0 AFC Fylde

4.57pmGOAL! Bury 3-1 Hemel Hempstead Town

4.58pmFULL TIME! Dover Athletic 1-0 Morecambe

4.59pmFULL TIME! Bury 3-1 Hemel Hempstead Town

4.59pmFULL TIME! Barnet 1-3 Wycombe Wanderers

5.00pmFULL TIME! Southend United 1-2 Chester FC

5.01pmIt's taken a while for the result to come through but Dover Athletic and Chester FC have both prevailed over Football League opposition to reach the second round of the FA Cup. Congratulations to all involved!

5.03pmBoth teams had to hold on towards the end but they deservedly take their place in the next round. Conference Premier sides Eastleigh and Dartford have also joined them with wins against teams in the non-league pyramid, while Southport have earned a replay against Dagenham & Redbridge.

5.06pmLooking at the all Football League ties, Cheltenham Town's 5-0 thrashing of Swindon Town catches the eye, as does Cambridge United's narrow triumph over Fleetwood Town.

5.07pmOn that note, we will bring an end to our coverage of the FA Cup in this blog but please stick around for all of the reports, round-ups and reaction that will be coming your way over the next hour. As ever, thanks for joining Sports Mole this afternoon. Goodbye for now.
