Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is reportedly willing to accept a pay cut in order to move to Barcelona and link up with Lionel Messi.

Sergio Aguero is reportedly desperate to end his playing career alongside Lionel Messi at Barcelona.

Manchester City's all-time leading goalscorer will end his glittering 10-year stint at the Etihad this summer, and despite his age and injury woes, he will not be short of suitors.

Barcelona are thought to be leading the race for Aguero's signature, but a switch to another Premier League side in Chelsea, Everton or Leeds United has also been mooted.

However, Mundo Deportivo claims that Aguero is pining for a move to Barcelona in order to link up with Messi, and the Argentine is willing to accept a salary decrease in order to make it happen.

The report adds that Aguero could represent an ideal cut-price alternative to Erling Braut Haaland for Barcelona, with Aguero available as a free agent and Borussia Dortmund likely to demand a nine-figure sum for Haaland.

Aguero has managed a mere four goals in 17 appearances across all competitions this season, but he could win his fifth Premier League title if City beat Chelsea on Saturday.
