Italy international Antonio Candreva will leave Lazio this summer after requesting a move away from the club, sporting director Igli Tare announces.

Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has revealed that versatile midfielder Antonio Candreva has requested a transfer from the club.

The 29-year-old, who made two appearances for Italy at Euro 2016 this summer, has been linked with a big-money switch to Chelsea in recent weeks.

Candreva is expected to depart for Serie A rivals Napoli, however, with Lazio chief Tare confident of bringing an immediate replacement to the Stadio Olimpico ahead of the new season.

"With regards to Candreva, he has asked to leave and we've already secured a replacement if he does go," FourFourTwo quotes him as saying.

New Lazio head coach Simone Inzaghi, stepping in for Marcelo Bielsa after the experienced boss pulled out of a deal to manage the club, later confirmed that Candreva is to leave.
