Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has said that his team "are ready" to face Arsenal in the Community Shield next weekend.

The Premier League champions recorded a 3-0 victory over Arsenal when the pair met in a pre-season friendly on July 22, but the Blues have lost their last two friendlies against Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.

Despite only playing three times since the end of last season, Courtois has insisted that Chelsea are eagerly anticipating taking on their Premier League rivals at Wembley Stadium on August 6.

"We will do our best to win the Community Shield and I think we are ready for it," Courtois told Goal.com. "Let's see if we have a good season."

Chelsea have only won the Community Shield on four previous occasions, with their last success coming in 2009. Arsenal, meanwhile, have lifted the trophy 14 times.
