Chelsea are reportedly willing to hand over up to £30m for Danny Drinkwater, but Leicester City could be prepared to hold out for more.

Chelsea have informed Leicester City that they are willing to hand over up to £30m for midfielder Danny Drinkwater, according to a report.

The Blues are understood to have recently reignited their interest in the England international, 12 months after initially being linked with a move.

Antonio Conte is said to be keen to bolster his midfield ranks following the loss of Nemanja Matic to Manchester United, with Drinkwater - a key member of City's title-winning side of 2015-16 - among those being seriously considered.

It is claimed by The Sun that reigning champions Chelsea will not be held to ransom by Leicester, however, valuing the 27-year-old no higher than £30m, which is £2m less than they paid for former teammate N'Golo Kante last summer.

Drinkwater, under contract at the King Power Stadium until 2021, has made 87 appearances for City since joining from Manchester United in 2012.
