Result: Late Pablo Hernandez stunner earns Celta Vigo victory

Celta Vigo come from behind to defeat Real Sociedad 3-2 in their La Liga clash as a stunning goal from Pablo Hernandez secures the three points at the Estadio Anoeta.

Pablo Hernandez scored a stunning strike in the 89th minute to fire Celta Vigo to a 3-2 comeback victory over Real Sociedad in their La Liga clash this evening.

The home side took the lead in the 11th minute when Imanol Agirretxe escaped the attention of his marker and planted a header past Sergio Alvarez after latching on to David Zurutuza's cross.

Celta restored parity minutes later as Nemanja Radoja teed up a strike on the edge of the box, but Iago Aspas stuck out his right foot and managed to divert the ball into the bottom corner.

Sociedad regained the advantage before the break when Agirretxe netted his second of the match as he converted a left-footed strike past Alvarez at the back post.

Inigo Martinez could have added a third goal for the home side just before the whistle, but he saw his close-range header well saved by Alvarez.

In the second half, the visitors got back on level terms as Aspas found the net for the second time as he drifted in between two defenders to head Daniel Wass's cross beyond the reach of Geronimo Rulli.

Celta upped the ante towards the end of the match and Aspas came close to scoring his hat-trick when he drilled a strike at goal from distance, but he sent his effort narrowly wide of the target.

John Guidetti should have put the visitors in front for the first time in the game when he reacted to a loose ball in the box, but he blasted his effort over from six yards when under pressure from Mikel Gonzalez.

Celta got the winning goal in the 88th minute as Nolito found Hernandez in space on the edge of the box, and the midfielder controlled the ball on his chest before firing a stunning volley into the top corner to secure the three points for Eduardo Berizzo's men.

The result keeps Celta in touch with Real Madrid and Barcelona at the top of the table, while David Moyes's men are just one spot above the relegation zone in 17th place.
