Cardiff City picked up a 2-0 win over Reading to move above their opponents into seventh place in the Championship table.
Kenwyne Jones scored late in the first half to end a prolonged goal drought for the Bluebirds, before Matthew Connolly added a second from another set-piece header soon after the restart.
Cardiff were able to keep their two-goal advantage intact for the remainder, but only thanks to a number of top-class stops by goalkeeper David Marshall.
