How Bayern Munich could line up against Borussia Dortmund

Sports Mole looks at how Bayern Munich could line up against Borussia Dortmund this weekend.

Bayern Munich will welcome Borussia Dortmund to the Allianz Arena on Saturday afternoon with first position in the Bundesliga table up for grabs.

As it stands, Bayern are second in Germany's top flight, two points off leaders Dortmund.

The reigning champions have won their last seven home Bundesliga matches, while Dortmund have been victorious in just two of their last six on the road.

There is simply no downplaying the importance of this weekend's clash, with Bayern looking to return to the summit at a vital stage of the season.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how Bayern could line up on home soil.

POSS BAY XI vs. DOR

Out: Corentin Tolisso (knee)
Doubtful: Arjen Robben (calf), Manuel Neuer (calf), David Alaba (thigh)

Manuel Neuer missed Bayern's DFB-Pokal quarter-final against Heidenheim on Wednesday night with a slight calf problem, but the goalkeeper is expected to return to the starting XI against Dortmund.

David Alaba and Arjen Robben also missed out in the same match due to thigh and calf problems respectively, but the pair could also return to the squad this weekend.

A 4-2-3-1 formation is expected to include Serge Gnabry, James Rodriguez and Kingsley Coman in the three positions behind Robert Lewandowski, who has 33 goals to his name this season.

Thiago Alcantara and Javi Martinez, meanwhile, should start as the midfield two, leaving Leon Goretzka on the bench.
