The home side were dominant in the first period and entered the interval with a one-goal lead courtesy of a Luis Suarez goal in the 14th minute of action.
Lionel Messi doubled Barcelona's lead early in the second period, before Luis Suarez and Arda Turan made it three and then four within the space of two minutes.
