Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong likes a post calling for manager Ernestoi Valverde to be sacked after the Catalans drew 0-0 with Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

Frenkie de Jong has liked an Instagram post calling for manager Ernesto Valverde to be sacked after Barcelona's 0-0 draw with Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

The Catalans continued their mixed start to the campaign with a goalless draw which saw Marc-Andre ter Stegen save a penalty from Marco Reus.

Despite a convincing 5-2 win over Valencia last time out, with De Jong claiming a goal and an assist, last season's champions remain fifth in La Liga.

According to The Sun, De Jong liked a comment after the game which read "#ValverdeOut" before unliking the post moments later.

The 22-year-old moved to the Camp Nou for a fee of £75.9m following a remarkable 2018-19 season with Ajax.

Some supporters have expressed frustration with Valverde for using De Jong in different midfield roles during the Dutchman's first few games at the club.
