Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga is set for his Arsenal medical on Friday ahead of a £17.1m move, according to a report.

Albert Sambi Lokonga will undergo his Arsenal medical on Friday ahead of a summer move from Anderlecht, according to a report.

The Gunners are set for an overhaul in midfield of sorts this summer, as Matteo Guendouzi, Dani Ceballos and Martin Odegaard are no longer at Mikel Arteta's disposal, and questions remain over the futures of Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira.

As a result, Arsenal are said to have moved quickly to secure the signature of Lokonga from Anderlecht, and a transfer is reportedly edging closer to completion.

According to Belgian outlet HLN, Lokonga will complete his Arsenal medical either on Friday or Saturday, and the 21-year-old is poised to pen a five-year deal with the North London club.

The report adds that Lokonga's switch to Arsenal is now just 'a matter of points and commas' and Anderlecht are set to pocket more than €20m (£17.1m) from his sale.

The midfielder leaves Anderlecht having scored three goals and assisted seven more in 78 appearances for the club, including three goals and two assists in last season's top flight.
