Arsenal legend Ian Wright has hit out at the club for their apparent determination to hold on to Alexis Sanchez.

The Chile international is believed to have been the subject of two bids from Manchester City on transfer deadline day, the most recent of which was thought to be in the region of £60m.

It has been widely reported that Arsenal were only willing to sell the 28-year-old if they could get a last-minute deal over the line for Monaco star Thomas Lemar.

However, despite lodging a £92 m offer, the Gunners walked away from a deal due to concerns that they would be unable to finalise it before the deadline.

The knock-on effect meant that Sanchez would not be allowed to sign for Premier League rivals City, but if the Chilean fails to complete a move within the next few hours, then he could leave Arsenal for free at the end of the season.

Wright made his feelings on the saga known by tweeting: "It's bad business to let Sanchez walk out next year for free.Take the F*****g money! He don't want to be there! We're Arsenal so some pride."

Arsenal sold Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool earlier today for a reported £35m fee.
