Project Restart: Norwich City's remaining 2019-20 Premier League fixtures

Ahead of the Premier League restart next week, Sports Mole looks at the remaining fixtures facing relegation-threatened Norwich City.

Norwich City currently sit six points adrift of safety at the foot of the Premier League table, and the Canaries showed little signs of revival before play was halted.

Indeed, Daniel Farke's side suffered a 1-0 defeat to European hopefuls Sheffield United prior to the coronavirus-enforced postponement, and Norwich have only chalked up five Premier League wins all season.

Survival is not out of the question yet for Farke's men, however, and they will be encouraged by two home fixtures against bottom-half sides Southampton and Everton as the season resumes next week - although they will be without the Carrow Road faithful to spur them on from the stands.

Norwich enjoyed a dramatic FA Cup last-16 victory over Tottenham Hotspur to set up a quarter-final showdown with Manchester United, and the challenging fixtures continue for Farke as the Canaries travel to Arsenal a few days later.

Fixtures come thick and fast for the Premier League's basement side as they play host to Brighton & Hove Albion before travelling to Watford - both of whom have not guaranteed their survival just yet either.

The relegation showdowns continue for Norwich as they welcome West Ham United to East Anglia, and Farke will be optimistic about his side's chances of picking up several points from these fixtures.

However, Norwich's fight for survival will become more challenging as they prepare to take on a high-flying Chelsea, and their last home game of the season will be a stern test against Burnley.

The Canaries could hardly be facing a more difficult end to the season as they travel to the Etihad to face current champions Manchester City, although that match may be of little significance if Norwich's fate is already sealed by then.
