The only player to captain a title-winning team in three different decades, Tony Adams spent his entire 19-year professional career at Arsenal from his debut in 1983 to his retirement at the top of the game in 2002.

Adams had already won two league titles and a League Cup before the advent of the Premier League, and he went on to lead the club to even greater success under Arsene Wenger alongside the famed defensive line of Lee Dixon, Steve Bould, Martin Keown and Nigel Winterburn.

The centre-back helped Arsenal to the Premier League and FA Cup double in 1998 before repeating the feat four years later in 2002 - his final season at the club before hanging up his boots.

Adams retired having won two league titles, three FA Cups, the League Cup and the Cup Winners' Cup during the Premier League era, in addition to being included in the Premier League Team of the Year on three occasions.

Arsenal's most successful ever captain, Adams made 669 appearances for the Gunners to leave him second behind only David O'Leary in the all-time list, with more than 500 of those coming in the league (255 in the Premier League).
