A protest song about Prime Minister Boris Johnson climbs up to six in the midweek singles chart.

A protest song about Prime Minister Boris Johnson has surged up to number six in the midweeks with just two days of the Christmas chart race remaining.

The 56-second song, from a group known as The Kunts, has just one explicit lyric - "Boris Johnson is a f***ing c**t" - and was up to number six in the chart by the close of play on Tuesday.

LadBaby remains a dead cert to claim the Christmas number one for a third consecutive year, meanwhile, with 'Don't Stop Me Eatin'' now likely to have surpassed 100,000 chart sales after notching up 80,000 in the first 48 hours alone.

Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas' is tracking at two, followed by Wham's 'Last Christmas' at three and Jess Glynne's 'This Christmas' at four.

Elsewhere, Ed Sheeran's surprise new single 'Afterglow' is currently at 44 after a midweek release but is expected to climb further by Friday.
