The X Factor favourite Jake Quickenden is facing six months of taking it easy after a severe injury that required his pectoral muscle to be glued back onto the bone.

Reality TV favourite Jake Quickenden will reportedly be forced to take it easy for the next six months after suffering a horrific injury while filming Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

The 32-year-old - known for The X Factor and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! - was rushed from the show's set in Scotland to hospital in London for surgery following an incident just a few days into the notoriously-tough Channel 4 series.

According to The Sun, Quickenden tore his pectoral muscle in an injury so severe that it had to be glued back onto the bone by doctors.

"Jake ended up being in surgery for five hours on Monday as the injury he sustained on SAS was worse than thought," a source told the newspaper.

"His pectoral muscle was ruptured and had to be glued back to his bone.

"Jake won't be doing any physical sport or exercise for up to six months and will have to wear a sling for at least two months.

"It's a devastating blow for him. In his heart he knew he wouldn't be able to return to SAS but having been told by the doctors the extent of the injury it's really hit home."

Quickenden was also due to appear in ITV's The Real Full Monty for charity later this year but his participation in that show is now in severe doubt.
