Daniel Craig gives backing to No Time To Die delay
Daniel Craig says that "this isn't the right time" to release his final outing as James Bond in No Time To Die.

Daniel Craig has backed the decision to delay his final outing as James Bond in No Time To Die until next April.

The highly-anticipated movie - the 25th in the iconic franchise - was originally due for release in April this year, but was pushed back until October as the coronavirus crisis swept across the world.

Last week producers confirmed a further delay until April 2, 2021 - a controversial move that puts the cinema industry in further peril, with no major releases now due this side of Christmas.

"This thing is just bigger than all of us," Craig told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show.

"We just want people to go and see this movie in the right way, in a safe way.

"Cinemas all around the world are closed at the moment. We want to release the movie at the same time all around the world, and this isn't the right time.

"So, fingers crossed, April 2 is going to be our day."

Tom Hardy is the odds-on bookies favourite to replace Craig as 007, although a recent report suggested that Harry Styles has emerged as a shock alternative for the role.
