Team GB boxer Joe Cordina advances into the next round of the World Championships after overcoming Australia's Joshua Keirl in routine fashion.

Team GB boxer Joe Cordina has booked his spot in the next round of the World Championships after overcoming Australia's Joshua Keirl on Wednesday.

The Welshman was comfortable against Keirl, winning all three rounds in routine fashion as he breezed into the second stage of the competition.

Keirl struggled to make his mark for long spells, as his more slick opponent kept a good distance and showed his speed throughout the contest.

Lightweight Cordina, who has become the third Brit to win their opening bout at the 2015 World Championships in Doha, will fight for a spot in the quarter-finals on Friday.
