Floyd Mayweather Jr, Conor McGregor rematch 'to take place in UFC Octagon'

Conor McGregor's mooted rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr will allegedly take place in a UFC Octagon with modified rules.

Floyd Mayweather Jr's proposed rematch with Conor McGregor will allegedly take place inside a UFC Octagon with modified rules.

According to Omar Al Raisi, editor-in-chief of Dubai outlet The Sports Journal, both competitors will be required to wear four-ounce gloves, no shoes, and battle it out across five rounds of five minutes.

Furthermore, kicks, take-downs, elbows and knees will reportedly be prohibited.

The fight will allegedly be a joint venture between Mayweather Promotions, UFC and McGregor Entertainment.

McGregor found himself embroiled in controversy last week after being charged with three counts of assault by the New York Police Department in relation to an incident at a media day.
