Heavyweight boxing is not only about three fighters, but Anthony Joshua, Joseph Parker and Deontay Wilder seem set to be at the forefront of the sport in 2018. They are the three stars of the ring who are set on unifying the four world boxing titles.
Oldest of the four, 32-year-old Wilder has just come off another impressive victory against Luis Ortiz. He has his sights set firmly on meeting Anthony Joshua next, but that may depend on what happens when Joshua meets Kiwi Joseph Parker on March 31, 2018.
What the betting says
The next big betting opportunity, when it comes to the big three of heavyweight boxing, is the Joshua vs. Parker fight at the Principality Stadium. If you look at the latest Joshua vs. Parker predictions, you can see that most of the money is currently going on the home favourite - Joshua is odds-on for victory.
This does not mean that there are not value bets to be had. Betting on the likelihood of a knockout for Parker has odds of 10/1 with Sun Bets, for instance. This may not seem a likely result for a fighter who is better known for his strength and staying power, but heavyweight boxing is not always predictable.
Away from the immediate next meeting of members of the big three, there is always the potential to place a wager on who is most likely to unify the world titles and become undisputed heavyweight champion of the world - the first since Lennox Lewis.
What are the credentials of the big three?
Who should you put money on to become the undisputed heavyweight champion? Will any of the three main contenders be successful in achieving the feat in 2018?
There is no doubt that Anthony Joshua is the poster boy of the heavyweight world right now. The 28-year-old Watford-born fighter is already IBF and WBA champion, and he will add the WBO title to the list, if he triumphs over Parker. Joshua is a powerful fighter, and has triumphed in all of his 20 appearances so far. For many people, he is the favourite to unify all four titles.
That being said, you cannot underestimate the challenge of WBO champion Wilder. He may not be to everyone's taste, when it comes to pure boxing skill, but he has terrific power. The Alabama-born fighter has achieved 38 knockouts in 39 wins and he is definitely a big threat.
Joseph Parker is the youngest of heavyweight boxing's big three, at the age of 26. He has yet to lose in 25 appearances, and has never hit the canvas. When he fights Joshua, Parker will be the underdog but his power and speed could win the day. He is certainly not without a chance of becoming undisputed champion.
Right now, most of the bets are being placed on Joshua to reign supreme in the world of heavyweight boxing, but all that could change come March 31, and boxing fans are waiting anxiously to see who triumphs.
