How Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Crystal Palace

Sports Mole looks at how Tottenham Hotspur could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

On Saturday, Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham Hotspur welcome Crystal Palace to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium looking to return to winning ways, having not tasted victory since the opening day.

Roy Hodgson's Eagles will become the first opposition team to have played at Spurs' new stadium twice, having been the first opponents there back in April.

After securing an impressive win at Old Trafford followed by another at home to Aston Villa - Palace have leapfrogged Tottenham into the top four, and Hodgson will be hoping that his side can stay there a little longer.

Palace are now the last opposition team to have won at Anfield, the Etihad, Old Trafford and the Emirates in the Premier League and would dearly love to add the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to their list.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Tottenham could line up for Saturday's match.

Possible TOT XI vs. PAL

Out: Giovani Lo Celso (hip), Juan Foyth (ankle)
Doubtful: Tanguy Ndombele (thigh), Kyle Walker-Peters (thigh), Eric Dier (hip), Ryan Sessegnon (thigh)

These days Mauricio Pochettino can often spring a surprise when choosing his starting XI and formation, but a 4-2-3-1 seems the most likely option for this game.

One of these characteristic surprises was for Davinson Sanchez to be selected at right-back for the first time in his career against Arsenal last time out. The Colombian could well get another go there with doubts lingering over Kyle Walker-Peters's fitness and Juan Foyth still being sidelined by an ankle injury.

Jan Vertonghen didn't feature in the opening three matches for Spurs, but that omission should be behind the Belgian now, who is likely to be partnered in defence by compatriot Toby Alderweireld. Danny Rose is likely to be preferred to Ben Davies at left-back.

Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko broke through as the surprise regular midfield pairing last season after the departure of Mousa Dembele and the various injuries suffered by Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama. With Giovani Lo Celso missing out and Tanguy Ndombele having missed a few weeks crocked, it is likely to again be those two selected in the engine room.

Dele Alli is fit again, but Erik Lamela has surprisingly started all four of Tottenham's matches so far this season and could retain his place once again for the test of Crystal Palace. Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-min are likely to make up the attacking triumvirate behind striker Harry Kane.
