Arsenal reportedly begin talks with Turkish side Galatasaray over the sale of £10m-rated midfielder Mohamed Elneny.

Arsenal have reportedly entered negotiations with Galatasaray over the possible sale of midfielder Mohamed Elneny.

The 25-year-old only joined Arsenal 18 months ago, but he has struggled to force his way into the first-team picture at the Emirates Stadium and made just eight Premier League starts last season.

Manager Arsene Wenger is willing to let the Egypt international go as a result, with Galatasaray leading the race for the £10m-rated midfielder.

Leicester City have also been linked with a move for Elneny and saw a £10m bid accepted by Arsenal, but the player himself is understood to have turned down a move to the King Power Stadium.

Elneny's current contract runs until 2020, but he has made just 38 appearances for the club across all competitions since joining from Basel for £5m.

Should Wenger allow Elneny to leave then he may be more inclined to keep the likes of Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at the club - both of whom have been linked with summer exits.
