Moeen Ali has declared that England will not back down in their series decider with Bangladesh despite a disappointing performance in Dhaka.
The hosts levelled up the series at 1-1 on Sunday thanks to a 34-run triumph at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, with only captain Jos Buttler emerging with any real credit for the tourists.
Ali insists that confidence remains high heading into the third and final ODI on Wednesday, but concedes that his side took a step backwards last time out when the batsmen seemed to adopt a safety-first approach.
"I think if we are going to lose we would rather lose playing the way we do normally, and that was the biggest disappointment," he told Sky Sports News. "Jos played really well but nobody else did really.
"We were like the old England a bit. That's something we have highlighted. Sometimes it's going to happen but that's the first time in a couple of years we have done it so I'm sure it's just a one-off.
"We are pretty confident still. We know we let ourselves down the last game but we have put that to bed now and won't be taking a backward step. The best way for us to play is with aggressive cricket and keep attacking."
Buttler was warned by the International Cricket Council for his conduct in Sunday's second ODI after reacting angrily to the celebrations of Bangladesh's players.
