Race stewards demote Jean-Eric Vergne from 12th to 16th for a collision with Esteban Gutierrez on the final lap of the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas.

Toro Rosso driver Jean-Eric Vergne has been hit with a 20-second post-race for colliding with Esteban Gutierrez's Sauber on the final lap of the United States Grand Prix.

The Frenchman crossed the line in 12th place, but he has now been demoted to 16th following a steward's enquiry.

It means Gutierrez moves up to 13th, while Felipe Massa (Ferrari), Heikki Kovalainen (Lotus Renault) and Paul di Resta (Force India) have also been promoted.

Sebastian Vettel breezed to victory in Austin, sealing a record-breaking eighth race win in a row.
