Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Nuno Espirito Santo says that he is "cautious" over his reaction to witnessing his side suffer a fifth defeat in six Premier League games.

Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has suggested that he will not over-react to witnessing Wolverhampton Wanderers suffer a fifth Premier League defeat in six matches.

Wolves enjoyed a fine start to the new campaign, but Nuno watched his team suffer another setback in the top flight as Cardiff City overturned a deficit to prevail by a 2-1 scoreline in South Wales.

Nuno and his squad have started to receive criticism from the stands, but the Portuguese has encouraged everyone associated with the club to "stick together".

The 44-year-old told Sky Sports: "I'm cautious of the moment we have now, it's a lot of games without a win, and knowing there's only one way - stick together and work harder.

"You can't buy confidence, but I think we were better than last weekend, I thought we were in control of it and there weren't many chances for them - although set pieces were always a problem.

"The first goal is too easy the way they scored. After that, it became very difficult. It's hard when you have the lead and lose the game. Usually, it's one of the things that we preserve well, but we had chances to come out and our first pass was poor. We needed more possession."

Wolves - who remain in 11th position - host Chelsea in their next fixture on Wednesday evening.
