Tottenham Hotspur team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Brighton & Hove Albion

Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham Hotspur's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League showdown with Brighton and Hove Albion.

Tottenham Hotspur will be desperate for a return to winning ways against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League this weekend after suffering an unforgettable humiliation at the hands of Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

Despite playing well during the opening 20 minutes and taking the lead early on, a seemingly jaded Spurs team capitulated in truly emphatic fashion in the face of a crisp, ruthless Bayern attack spearheaded by former Arsenal player Serge Gnabry, who netted four times in the second half to hand the Bundesliga champions a 7-2 victory.

Mauricio Pochettino's men will now have the spotlight on them when they come to the Amex having only won three of their opening seven Premier League fixtures.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest injury and suspension news for Tottenham ahead of Saturday's fixture.

Giovani Lo Celso

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hip
Possible return date: November 3 (vs. Everton)

A summer signing from Real Betis, Lo Celso's Spurs career is yet to begin in earnest, with the Argentine picking up a hip injury just three games into his time in North London which looks likely to keep him sidelined for the entirety of October.

Ryan Sessegnon

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Sessegnon is another new signing whose Spurs career is yet to kick off, with the youngster impeded by a hamstring injury. His return to training last month seemingly suggested an imminent return to the pitch, but Pochettino recently confirmed that the same hamstring problem had been reaggravated, making an appearance at Brighton highly unlikely.

Serge Aurier

Return date: October 19 (vs. Watford)

Serge Aurier will miss this encounter with the Seagulls after suffering two yellows in the space of 30 minutes during last weekend's win over Southampton. The defender is set to return for the home game against Watford after the international break.
