How Paris Saint-Germain could line up against Monaco

Sports Mole looks at how Paris Saint-Germain could line up for Sunday's Ligue 1 clash with Monaco.

Paris Saint-Germain resume Ligue 1 action this weekend with a meeting with Monaco at the Parc des Princes on Sunday.

Thomas Tuchel's side, who drew 2-2 with Real Madrid during the week, will want to maintain their lead of eight points at the top of the Ligue 1 table.

They come up against a struggling Monaco side currently sitting 14th in the table following a series of poor results on the road.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the French champions could line up for the fixture.

Doubtful: Thilo Kehrer (foot)

With PSG's season starting in earnest when the Champions League knockouts begin in February, Tuchel has been proficient with his rotation policy so far this season, and you suspect that this will continue on Sunday.

Namely, Thomas Meunier, the first-choice right-back, is likely to make away for Colin Dagba, who has appeared in eight Ligue 1 games so far this term.

Abdou Diallo, another exciting youngster, will likely take the place of captain Thiago Silva, although Juan Bernat will have to start due to Kurzawa's absence.

In midfield, Idrissa Gueye, recently back from injury, looks set to feature from the start after being taken off early during the meeting with Madrid during the week, with Marquinhos anchoring the midfield.

Marco Verratti looks likely to receive a rest due to the Italian's recent knee injury, which kept him out for two weeks earlier this month - a move that paves the way for Julian Draxler, whose driving runs from midfield have played a shaping role in PSG's attacks in recent weeks.

Tuchel is never short of attacking options, especially with recent additions Pablo Sarabia and Mauro Icardi scoring goals, but now has something of a selection headache due to the return of Neymar.

The Brazilian, plagued with injury problems since the summer, started against Lille last weekend and came off the bench against Los Blancos, and you would strongly expect for the 26-year-old to start the game against Leonardo Jardim's men.

Accompanying Neymar will be PSG's two most potent attacking options so far this season, Angel Di Maria and Kylian Mbappe.

The latter netted his ninth goal of the 2019-20 campaign in Madrid on Tuesday, and he could make that double figures against his former club this weekend.
