Palermo head coach Giuseppe Iachini has thanked fans for their support despite a troubled start to the season.

The Rosanero are five points off the bottom of Serie A after losing six of their opening 11 games of the campaign, but Iachini is in no mood to walk away.

"I go forward in the knowledge that we will get out of this dark moment," he told reporters. "However, football is made up of individual incidents and it is possible to play the perfect game and then lose."

Asked if he would ever depart the Stadio Renzo Barbera, Ianchini replied: "Sometimes the president asks me the same question as a motivational tool, but I am not used to quitting when results don't go my way or if there are other problems,"

"I thank all the Palermo fans for their faith in me even if it is yet to be repaid out there on the pitch."

Palermo are next in action tomorrow afternoon against Chievo.
