Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is reportedly refusing to offer Sergio Ramos a two-year contract extension as the clock ticks on his current deal.

Real Madrid are reportedly only prepared to offer Sergio Ramos a one-year contract extension amid speculation surrounding his Bernabeu future.

The 34-year-old is due to become a free agent in June when his existing deal expires, and he has since been linked with moves to Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain for the 2021-22 campaign.

Ramos is understood to be open to extending his stay in the Spanish capital, but the offer that Real Madrid have tabled is reportedly not good enough for the 100-goal centre-back to consider penning fresh terms.

According to AS, Ramos wants a new two-year contract with the La Liga champions, but given his age, Real president Florentino Perez is reluctant to keep him on the books beyond the end of next season.

The report adds that Ramos believes his standing and success at the club warrants a two-year extension, while he also does not intend to take a pay cut despite the club's volatile financial situation.

With one or both of Ramos and Raphael Varane expected to depart this summer, Real are supposedly at the head of the queue to sign David Alaba after he confirmed that he would be leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season.
