How Paris Saint-Germain could line up against Manchester United

Sports Mole looks at how Paris Saint-Germain could line up when Manchester United visit the Parc des Princes on Wednesday evening.

Paris Saint-Germain are on the verge of reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time in three attempts, as they hold a 2-0 lead over Manchester United heading into Wednesday's second leg.

Beaten at this stage by Barcelona and Real Madrid in the last two seasons, PSG laid down a marker with their impressive victory at Old Trafford three weeks ago and are now overwhelming favourites to get the job done on home soil.

PSG's win in Manchester was made all the more impressive as they were without key attacking pair Neymar and Edinson Cavani, as will be the case for this return fixture.

Ahead of the midweek match in the French capital, Sports Mole looks at how Thomas Tuchel may set out his side.

Doubtful: Edinson Cavani (muscle)

Tuchel has adapted his side to cope without Neymar and Cavani, using a three-man attacking midfielder behind star performer Kylian Mbappe, who was among the goals in the first leg.

Mbappe has now found the net in six of his seven Champions League appearances against British clubs and has scored 14 goals overall in UEFA's showpiece competition, which is two more than any other player has netted as an Under-21 player.

Former United man Angel di Maria impressed in the first leg and Julian Draxler also performed well, so both men are likely to retain their places for this one.

There is a decision to be made on the right of attacking midfield, though, as Christopher Nkunku is in contention to take over from Dani Alves.

Thomas Meunier was out for most of February with a head injury, but returned to score the third goal against Dijon last week and he also got 90 minutes under his belt in the 2-1 win at Caen last time out.

Cavani is another who is close to a comeback, having recently returned to the training field, but this match is expected to come too soon for him.
