A report claims that Liverpool intend to build their side around Mohamed Salah this summer, with an exit being ruled out for the Egypt international.

Liverpool are reportedly open to selling some of their biggest assets this summer, but Mohamed Salah will not be given permission to leave Anfield.

A number of unwanted records have been sent tumbling by fallen champions Liverpool this term, including a run of six successive league defeats on home soil for the first time ever.

Questions have been asked of manager Jurgen Klopp's future beyond the end of the campaign, while a number of players have been tipped to move on.

Salah is one of those who has been touted as a target for the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona, but The Independent reports that Liverpool have no intention of selling the forward - unlike some of their other under-performers.

In fact, it is claimed that the Merseyside outfit could instead build their side around the Egypt international, who leads the Premier League scoring charts this season and still has two-and-a-half years to run on his contract.

Liverpool would like to bring in new players to freshen up their squad, but the coronavirus pandemic has crippled their finances so options are therefore limited unless players move on.

Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele is among those being targeted by the Reds should funds become available.
