Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly Southampton's top choice to replace Claude Puel, who is under growing pressure at St Mary's Stadium.

Leicester City want Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers to replace Claude Puel, according to a report.

The Foxes are said to be prepared to swing the axe should they suffer a third successive defeat when they travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers next weekend.

City followed up an embarrassing FA Cup third-round exit at Newport County with a 2-1 home loss to strugglers Leicester City on Saturday, only increasing the pressure on Puel.

Supporters have turned on the Frenchman in numbers and The Sun reports that a change of management at St Mary's Stadium could be imminent, with Rodgers being lined up to take over.

Rodgers is said to be eyeing a return to the Premier League after two-and-a-half years with Celtic, where he is on course for a clean sweep of nine domestic titles from a possible nine.

The 45-year-old previously spent close to four years with Liverpool, guiding the Reds to second place in 2013-14, while also managing Swansea City in the English top flight.
