Chelsea lost 4-0 at Bournemouth.

Jan Siewert believes his side are ready to inflict more damage on crisis-hit Chelsea when he takes his rock-bottom Terriers to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Despite his own side's perilous predicament stranded at the foot of the Premier League table, Siewert has already seen enough to tell his players they have no reason to write off their survival hopes.

The German said he was broadly encouraged by the performance in a 1-0 home defeat to Everton last week in what was his first game in charge since replacing compatriot David Wagner.

Siewert said: "I think there are reasons why we are at the bottom – you just have to look at our goals and we have scored 13 at the moment, so of course this is the reasons.

"But this is talking about the past, which I don't want to do. I want to focus on the future and we have to work on continuing to play like we did for 70 minutes last week.

"I am still convinced that we can go for the three points in each game and I see that the boys are really willing to go forward. I want to develop something, and I think everyone saw we have possibilities."

Siewert denied that he will approach the game any differently, despite the possibly of a negative atmosphere inside Stamford Bridge in the wake of Chelsea's 4-0 midweek defeat at Bournemouth.

But he will consider it particularly good timing that two of his most influential midfielders, Aaron Mooy and Philip Billing, are both set to start following recent injuries.

Mooy made a tentative comeback as a second half substitute against Everton after missing since early December with knee ligament damage, while Billing has also been ruled out with a minor knee complaint.

It [Mooy's return] is really important because he has such a big impact on the team and he is really dangerous on set-plays," said Siewert.

"It's not easy after such a long time to come back and be directly involved within the game but he is developing more and more and every training session is bringing him closer."

Meanwhile Siewert's demand for goals could be answered by 21-year-old Karlan Grant, who has made an immediate impression in training since his arrival on a permanent deal from Charlton this week.

Grant scored 14 goals for the Addicks this season and is set to go straight into the squad to face Maurizio Sarri's men.

Siewert added: "In Karlan I see something that is very special and I am convinced he can help us.

"I think he showed in League One that he is able to score consistently and this is important for me. He was already scoring goals in training yesterday, which makes me really proud."
