Hertha Berlin defender Marvin Plattenhardt has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Everton.
Last month, Marco Silva was confirmed as Sam Allardyce's replacement at Goodison Park and the Portuguese is keen to add more competition at left-back before the start of the new season.
Manchester City's Angelino has been linked with a switch to the Toffees but according to Sky Sports News, Plattenhardt is also on the club's radar.
The 26-year-old has spent the last four years with Hertha - making 119 appearances in all competitions - and the player's form has resulted in international recognition with Germany.
Plattenhardt is part of his nation's World Cup squad and a positive showing at the tournament in Russia could potentially lead to greater interest in his signature.
However, Hertha remain in a strong position with Plattenhardt still having five years remaining on his existing deal.
