Christian Noboa: 'Ecuador can beat France'

Ecuador midfielder Christian Noboa insists that he and his teammates are capable of beating France and making it through to the second round of the World Cup.

Ecuador midfielder Christian Noboa has insisted that his side is capable of beating France and making it through to the last 16 of the World Cup.

The Ecuadorians must match Switzerland's result against Honduras tonight in order to reach the next round of the tournament.

Despite a big task ahead for him and his teammates, Noboa is confident that they have what it takes to progress.

"It's like a final for us and we're hoping to win it and make our people happy," he told FIFA.com.

"We can beat France. That's why we're here at the World Cup, because every team is capable of beating anyone else. We've seen that in the other games, and there isn't much difference between sides now."

Noboa has scored two goals in 43 appearances for Ecuador since he made his debut back in 2006.
