Serie A club Carpi have completed the signing of former Italy international Marco Borriello.

The 33-year-old was available on a free transfer and has penned a one-year contract with the Biancorossi.

He had joined Genoa for the third time in his career in January on a permanent basis, but was released at the end of the season after failing to score.

Borriello has also enjoyed spells at AC Milan, Roma and Juventus, and has made seven appearances for Italy.

The striker will be joining a Carpi side who have lost their first two league matches of the season.
