Carlos Tevez has rejoined boyhood club Boca Juniors for his third stint after leaving Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua.
Tevez was believed to be the world's best-paid player during his time in the Far East, but he failed to adapt to life in China and angered club bosses when he branded football in the country 50 years behind Europe and South America.
The 33-year-old has left Shanghai despite still having a year to run on his £650,000-a-week contract and will sign his new deal with Boca next week, when he will be officially unveiled by the club.
"I come with the desire to train and add. What does it mean to return? I never left," the former Manchester United and Manchester City man told reporters.
Tevez, who will wear the number 32 shirt, previously played for Boca from 2001 to 2005 and 2015 to 2017, scoring 63 goals in 169 appearances for the club.
The striker could make his return for the club in the Superclasico against River Plate on January 22.
