Chris Coleman: 'Belgium can win World Cup'

Wales manager Chris Coleman believes that Belgium, whom the Dragons face in World Cup qualifying on Tuesday, are contenders to win the 2014 World Cup.

Wales manager Chris Coleman believes that Tuesday's opponents Belgium have "a real outside chance" of winning the 2014 World Cup.

The Dragons face Belgium, who beat Croatia 2-1 on Friday to guarantee top spot in Group A and a place at next summer's tournament, in the final fixture of their qualifying campaign.

Marc Wilmots's side boast Premier League talent such as Romelu Lukaku, Eden Hazard, Moussa Dembele and Marouane Fellaini, and Coleman feels that they are contenders to win in Brazil.

"They were 40th in the world when we first played them in Cardiff at the start of the campaign. Now, they are sixth," Coleman told reporters.

"They are a very good team. We've been doing our homework on them and pound for pound and player for player, they have the most expensive squad in the world.

"I'd fancy them at the World Cup. They have a real outside chance. They are a very good team."

Belgium beat Wales 2-0 in the reverse meeting between the sides, with Manchester City's Vincent Kompany and Tottenham Hotspur's Jan Vertonghen on the scoresheet.
