Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Bayern Munich could line up for their Champions League quarter-final first leg with Paris Saint-Germain.

Bayern Munich must work around the absence of star striker Robert Lewandowski for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final with Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old has found the back of the net in 10 of his 13 Champions League matches under Hansi Flick, but a knee injury will prevent him leading the line this week, so Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting could be trusted from the off.

Should Choupo-Moting spearhead the attack, the trio of Kingsley Coman, Thomas Muller and Leroy Sane are likely to start behind the striker, as Serge Gnabry has now been ruled out after testing positive for coronavirus.

Leon Goretzka took it upon himself to make the net ripple in the absence of Lewandowski against RB Leipzig, and the Germany international will form a fearsome midfield pairing with Joshua Kimmich once again.

Alphonso Davies and Jerome Boateng both sat out the win over Leipzig through suspension, but the defensive duo are back here and could earn immediate recalls to the starting XI for the first leg.

Lucas Hernandez and Niklas Sule's spots are at risk as Davies and Boateng prepare to return, but Flick will be unable to call upon Corentin Tolisso and Douglas Costa, who are nursing tendon and ankle injuries respectively.

Bayern Munich possible starting lineup:
Neuer; Pavard, Boateng, Alaba, Davies; Kimmich, Goretzka; Sane, Muller, Coman; Choupo-Moting
