McCall calls for repeat performance against Falkirk

Second-placed Ayr are looking to break a run of three draws.

Boss Ian McCall wants Ayr United to add more points to performances when they take on Championship bottom side Falkirk on Saturday.

The Honest Men's manager was happy enough with his side's display at Queen of the South last week despite the 1-1 draw, their third stalemate in a row.

McCall's side are in second place and unbeaten in 10 matches in all competitions and he is looking to get back on the winning trail as they chase leaders Ross County, who play Morton on Friday night.

McCall, who will be without Lawrence Shankland, Alan Forrest, Andy Geggan and Jamie Adams while Mark Kerr comes back into the squad, told the club's official website: "We were terrific last week in Dumfries,

"I thoroughly enjoyed watching us play and the only thing missing was the three points.

"I would love us to repeat that kind of performance tomorrow but of course with a different result.

"We know the goals will come, look at how many we have scored in the last 18 months.

"It is important to stay patient and get behind the boys as teams will now tend to sit in against us.

"Lawrence misses out with a slight knock so it is a huge chance for Craig Moore who has a great goalscoring record."

Bairns manager Ray McKinnon is in the process of rejuvenating his squad.

Ian McShane (St Mirren), Paul Dixon (Grimsby), Abdul Osman (PAS Lamia), Ross MacLean (Motherwell) and Mark Waddington (Stoke) have been added while Marcus Haber, Mustapha Dumbuya, Prince Buaben (released), Dennon Lewis, Ruben Sammut and Mark Russell have all left.

Dundee United, sitting in third spot, welcome Partick Thistle to Tannadice.

The Jags, a point off the bottom of the table and battling to avoid a second successive relegation, have signed defender Steven Saunders from Livingston and goalkeeper Conor Hazard on a six-month loan from Celtic with former Dunfermline attacker Joe Cardle arriving on a deal until the end of the season, subject to international clearance.

United are in third place and boss Robbie Neilson, who will have Fraser Fyvie back after he missed last week's defeat against Alloa, is also looking to add "better quality" players to his squad for the run-in.

Dunfermline  are four points ahead of their visitors Alloa who are unbeaten in four games.

Manager Allan Johnston told the club's official website: "We are not taking anything for granted.

"They are dangerous opponents but we are at home, we have to be on the front foot and have to try and get the three points."

Andy Ryan is still out long term, Sean Murdoch is stepping up his rehab and Louis Longridge is still a couple of weeks away. Callum Smith has returned from a loan spell to Arbroath.

Inverness take on Queen of the South who are without a win in four games.
