Martin Odegaard affirms that he is "happy" with life at Arsenal, but the playmaker accepts that Real Madrid will have the final say over his future.

Real Madrid's Martin Odegaard has seemingly opened the door to staying at Arsenal beyond the end of the season.

The Norway captain has been a hit with the fans since arriving on loan in the January transfer window, netting once in the Premier League and once in the Europa League for Mikel Arteta's side.

However, Arsenal are expected to go without European football for the first time in 25 years next season, and reports have suggested that Odegaard could prove too expensive for the Gunners to sign permanently.

Nevertheless, Odegaard has affirmed that he is enjoying life in North London, telling Sky Deutschland: "I am happy here at Arsenal, we will see after the season what will happen.

"I'm owned by Real Madrid, so we have to speak to them. It's important to understand what they want."

Should Arsenal fail in their attempts to sign Odegaard permanently, they have been tipped to reignite their interest in Borussia Dortmund's Julian Brandt.

Odegaard's Real Madrid deal does not expire until 2023, but he has only made 11 appearances for Los Blancos so far, compared to 18 during his short time with Arsenal.
