Former diver Sir Peter Heatly dies, aged 91

Former Scottish diver and Commonwealth Games Federation chairman Sir Peter Heatly passes away aged 91.

Former Scottish diver and Commonwealth Games Federation chairman Sir Peter Heatly has died, aged 91.

Heatly won gold and silver at the 1950 Commonwealth Games, then known as the British Empire Games, as well as winning further medals at the 1954 and 1958 events.

The Games returned to Edinburgh in 1986 when Heatly was chairman of the Commonwealth Games Federation.

His grandson is James Heatly, who won gold in the men's 3m springboard at this year's European Games.
