Great Britain broke the world record on their way to gold in the men's pursuit at the Rio Olympic Games this evening.
Sir Bradley Wiggins, Steven Burke, Ed Clancy and Owain Doull stormed to the gold at the expense of Australia following a thrilling final at the velodrome.

The medal means that Wiggins has now won five Olympic golds and is the most decorated British Olympian of all time, overtaking fellow cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy with eight medals.
Team GB went into the final having broken the world record in qualifying, but they found themselves trailing Australia in the opening laps.
However, they fought back and moved into the lead in the closing stages of the race, eventually crossing the line in a world record time of 3:50.265.
The Aussies were forced to settle for silver, while Denmark took home the bronze.
