England bowler Mark Wood claims that there is plenty more to come from him once he recovers from an ankle complaint.

Mark Wood has insisted that England have not seen the best of him yet.

The 25-year-old, who has taken 25 wickets in his eight Test appearances to date, has not made the trip to South Africa for the upcoming four-Test series because of a persistent ankle complaint.

With that in mind, the bowler has claimed that there is still plenty more to come from him in the future.

"I don't think fans have seen the best of me yet. I know there's a lot more to come," he told reporters.

"I can bowl better and I'll be hunting more wickets and better performances in the future."

Wood is not expected to return to action until the County Championship season gets underway in April.
