Who will get some Love? Looking at the Kevin Love trade market

Kevin Love Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers trading Kevin Love seems inevitable. The 31-year-old big man is the odd player out in Cleveland, a veteran with championship pedigree in a young, rebuilding team. An early season loss to the New York Knicks demonstrated where the Cavs are at the moment (at the bottom of the standings). Therefore, it makes sense for them to trade their All-Star, and get the assets in return. After all, Love still holds significant value, as he has skills highly coveted in today's NBA. The question is which team will get Love? Here are his possible destinations:

Portland Trailblazers
Love would jump at the chance to be shipped out to Portland. Oregon Live reports that a trade to the Blazers will be a homecoming for the big man, who once starred for Lake Oswego High School. It is a sensible trade for the Blazers, as they are in need of a spark. Coming in they were considered one of the league's better teams, but they have fallen way short of expectations. bwin Basketball details how the Blazers' early season struggles were compounded by Damian Lillard's back injury, along with a heavy schedule on the road. Despite this blip the team is still within striking distance of a playoff place, and a big calibre player like Love might be what Portland need to jumpstart their mediocre season. More importantly they can potentially trade either Hassan Whiteside or Kent Bazemore, as each has an expiring contract that can match Love's.

Phoenix Suns
Love to Phoenix trade rumours swirled as early as last season, although nothing ever materialised. This time it could yield a different result. The Suns have been the surprise package this season, and might go for the move. Love makes perfect sense, as coach Monty Williams could slot him next to either DeAndre Ayton or Aron Baynes in a traditional line-up, or use him as a stretch 5 in small line-ups. The Suns could give up a package of young players, like Dario Saric, Mikal Bridges, and Tyler Johnson, plus a draft pick or two.

Boston Celtics
The Celtics have sent mixed signals as far as their interest in Love is concerned. But make no mistake the Boston Celtics are in the mix. They need frontcourt help, and Love will be a definite upgrade over Enes Kanter, Daniel Theis and Brad Wanamaker. The Cs, though, will need to be creative to get this trade done. In particular they'll likely have to package a cadre of draft picks to sweeten the pot. That being said, do keep in mind that Danny Ainge has never shied away from making big trades. He could swing one for Love if he feels it is necessary.

Denver Nuggets
One team to watch out for are the Denver Nuggets. They've had a solid season so far, but have not been as strong as many pundits had projected. Love can help them in this regard as a floor spacing 4 next to Nikola Jokic. Crucially the Nuggets have assets that Cleveland are likely to find appealing. So don't be surprised if Love ends up in Denver.
