Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson feels that the blame for his side's Super Bowl loss to the New England Patriots lies solely on his shoulders.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has insisted that he must be the one to blame for their Super Bowl loss to the New England Patriots.

The Seahawks drove to the goalline of New England in the dying seconds of the game as they attempted to win back-to-back championships.

However, Seattle opted to pass the ball rather than hand off to Marshawn Lynch, which proved to be fatal for their hopes as Malcolm Butler intercepted Wilson's pass to secure the win for Bill Belichick's men.

"I put the blame on me - I'm the one who threw it," Wilson told reporters. "It's something you learn from, it's something you grow from.

"I'm proud of our guys about the way that we got down the field there in that situation. We had so many great plays, and we're right there. We'll just keep learning and keep growing."

The Patriots won the Vince Lombardi trophy for the fourth time in the history of their franchise.
