David Ginola reveals on Twitter that he is not unconscious following a cardiac arrest, despite reports to the contrary.

David Ginola has seemingly moved to refute the suggestion that he has been left in an unconscious condition following a cardiac arrest.

Initial reports claimed that the former Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United winger was taken to a hospital in Monaco after he had fallen ill at a golf event.

However, a message on the 49-year-old's official Twitter account revealed that Ginola had been playing in a football match, while also indicating that he had regained consciousness.

The Frenchman even made a joke about the 2022 World Cup being played in Qatar.

"Footy match in the midday sun, not very clever. Now having some tests done. Whoever voted for a World Cup in Qatar in the summer?," he tweeted.

Ginola also had spells with Aston Villa and Everton during his stint in the Premier League.
