How Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Bournemouth

Sports Mole looks at how Tottenham Hotspur could line up for their Boxing Day showdown with Bournemouth at Wembley as Dele Alli races to be fit in time.

Tottenham Hotspur welcome Bournemouth to Wembley on Boxing Day looking to sustain their Premier League title challenge.

Six points still separate Mauricio Pochettino's side from leaders Liverpool, but they closed the gap on champions Manchester City to just two over the weekend.

Spurs saw out the final Premier League match before Christmas with a thumping 6-2 win away to Everton, meaning that they have now lost just one of their last 13 outing across all competitions.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how they could line up for Wednesday's match.

Possible TOT XI vs. BOU

Out: Eric Dier (appendix), Jan Vertonghen (thigh), Mousa Dembele (ankle), Victor Wanyama (knee), Vincent Janssen (foot)
Doubtful: Dele Alli (hamstring), Moussa Sissoko (knock)

Pochettino has favoured a 4-4-2 diamond in his last two matches, and while he could be missing two key components of that in Dele Alli and Moussa Sissoko for this one, the success of the formation could see him stick with it.

Sissoko picked up a knock against Everton and has been used heavily recently, whereas Alli was taken off at half time at Goodison Park and may not be risked, despite his hamstring problem only being a minor one.

Rotation is an option for Tottenham, but the manner of their victory on Sunday could mean that Pochettino avoids making many changes, with two-goal duo Harry Kane and Son Heung-min continuing to lead the line.

Christian Eriksen is in line for another start should his stomach problems prove to be behind him now, while Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura are in contention to come into the side.

There are fewer options at the back for Spurs, although Danny Rose could give Ben Davies a rest and Kyle Walker-Peters is available on the opposite flank should Kieran Trippier suffer any signs of fatigue.
