Manchester United have reportedly started to consider an approach for Middlesbrough youngster Marcus Tavernier.
The 19-year-old only made his debut for Boro in the Championship 14 months ago, before the midfielder spent the second half of the last campaign on loan at MK Dons.
However, Tavernier has been handed six starts and five substitute outings by head coach Tony Pulis since the start of August, and the player's form has allegedly attracted interest from the Premier League.
According to the Daily Mail, United are debating whether to add Tavernier to their second-string squad with the view of developing the wideman into a first-team player.
The report claims that scouts have been present at a number of Boro fixtures in recent weeks, with Tavernier having impressed for the North-East outfit.
Tavernier still has just over two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract at the Riverside Stadium.
