Manchester United reportedly reject bids from Turkish clubs for Mason Greenwood, who remains suspended by the Red Devils until further notice.

Manchester United have reportedly rejected bids from Turkey for Mason Greenwood as they continue their internal investigation into the 21-year-old's off-field actions.

The striker has not represented the Red Devils since being arrested on suspicion of rape and assault in January 2022 following accusations posted online from a woman, including a series of photos and an audio clip.

Greenwood was then further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and making threats to kill, and Man United immediately suspended the striker until further notice.

After allegedly breaching his bail conditions, Greenwood was arrested for a third time in October last year, and he was soon charged with one count of attempted rape, one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and one count of engaging in coercive and controlling behaviour.

The one-cap England international was due to go on trial in November, but last month, the Crown Prosecution Service announced that all charges against Greenwood had been dropped.

A CPS statement revealed that the withdrawal of key witnesses and new material coming to light meant that there was no longer a realistic chance of conviction, and Greenwood was free to resume his football career.

However, Man United - who are still dishing out the striker's £75,000 weekly wage - will not consider welcoming Greenwood back to the club until they have concluded their own investigation into the matter.

While the Red Devils remain undecided on Greenwood's future, The Athletic claims that clubs in Turkey have been in touch regarding a possible move, but their approaches were knocked back.

Fenerbahce have been one of the sides linked with a move for the Red Devils' academy product, but the report does not specify which clubs made contact with Man United to discuss a transfer.

Man United's rejection of offers does not necessarily mean that Greenwood will play for the club again, with sponsors and members of the women's team raising their concerns about the Englishman returning.

Some men's first-team players are also said to be against Greenwood returning to the dressing room, and no decision will be made until the end of the season as Erik ten Hag's men focus on the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League.

However, some within the club supposedly still believe that he could be back on the Old Trafford pitch, in spite of the widespread debate and condemnation that such a move would lead to.

Prior to his suspension, Greenwood had scored 35 goals and set up 12 more in 129 appearances for Man United, and he made his only England appearance to date in a Nations League clash against Iceland in 2020.

The 21-year-old has spent the last 16 years at the club since joining in 2007, and his most recent appearance for the Red Devils came in a 1-0 win over West Ham United on January 22, 2022.

Greenwood - who is now an expectant father - remains contracted to Man United until the end of the 2024-25 season with the option of an additional 12 months.
